12 Ways To Believe You Can Do What You Set Your Mind To

Do you feel tired, or even drained, at times? How often do you feel like you can do whatever it is you set your mind to?

Here are 12 ways to remind yourself, and actually believe, that you can do what it is you set your mind to, whether it is to take better care of yourself, get that promotion or whatever it may be:

1. Believing you can takes you halfway there.

Never underestimate the power of self-belief. From seasoned athletes to CEOs of billion-dollar companies, each person’s journey most often starts, and is guided, through pure self-belief. When you get up in the morning, and if you feel motivated for your day, that in and of itself is a sign of self-belief. If this is an area you’re struggling with, consider your personal and professional paths. Perhaps these need redirecting. If you’re already motivated with what you do every day, the rest is history. You’ll be guided with star power with the belief that you can simply do it.

2. Hope can carry you into unheard of success.

Build hope, and see how it can carry you into unheard of success. Haven’t you heard the phrase, “If you can dream it, you can reach it?” If not, now you have.

Oprah has said, “Create the highest, grandest vision possible for your life, because you become what you believe.” Keeping hope through any difficulty, however hard, will help get you through it. Simply, hope.

3. Focus, while enjoying what you do.

Sometimes, we may keep working hard without focus. This drains us, and keeps us from enjoying what we do. Focus in a way that will let you enjoy what you’re presently doing. Consider how good working out will make you feel, during and after. Consider how you’ll nourish your body after a healthy meal. Instead of seeing difficulty, let your perspective be guided by how you’ll benefit from each next activity.

4. Take it easy the way you know how.

Haven’t you heard, “Just take it easy,” like a million times? What does that even mean? If each of us took it easy, in the sense of not doing anything, we’d all be lazy and unproductive. I say, take it easy the way you know how. If you’re running around doing errands all day, you might treat yourself to a nice dinner. However which way, practice self-care and self-love often in healthy and reinvigorating ways, and you’ll be the master of taking it easy.

5. Raise your self-esteem by pursuing excellence.

If we each could do everything we wanted, without failure or rejection, there would be less value in the purpose of excellence. Part of the purpose of excellence, or what could be seen as thoroughness at times, is to help us rebuild or raise our self-esteem. For example, let’s say you failed a course one semester. The next semester, by pursuing excellence in your new courses, you will, in turn, help raise your self-esteem. Since all of us fall at one point or another, this is a key element to picking yourself back up again, day in and day out. Pursue excellence, not perfection, in order to raise your self-esteem.

6. Keep trying, with precision and polite consideration that others have a lot going on.

When reaching out to others to get, say, an internship or job, keep trying but with polite consideration that others have a lot going on. Also, be precise in explaining what you want. Ask clearly and politely. You’ll eventually steer yourself towards plentiful success!

7. Don’t shy away from a bold but pragmatic move.

What, you say? How do I know when to be bold but pragmatic? It’s usually when you feel in your gut that it’s the right thing to do! For example, say you ask for a raise politely and after a reasonable amount of time. You’ll find out more information about your current environment, if you should stay there or not, or other key clues to helping you achieve what you really want.

8. Celebrate your journey when the time calls for it!

Sometimes, kicking back and, say, dancing to your favorite song can be the perfect celebration for mini- and major achievements. You’ll have added belief that you are on the right path by adding fun and joy!

9. Take some time out when you need to.

If you need a break from working too hard, take it. Breaks may help you get newfound perspective, motivation and energy. You will be thankful you did!

10. Revisit activities that make you feel good.

When working towards a goal, any goal, make some activities a routine to do and enjoy, so you feel security and comfort without sacrificing mental or emotional energy. Think about how grateful you are for these, later, too!

11. Be meaningful in how you treat others.

Without thinking too hard about it, think about how you’d want others to treat you (as it relates to this point). If you’d want niceness and kindness, then reciprocate that! Your meaningful treatment will usually reinforce your personal and professional objectives, helping you achieve what you want and satisfy your emotional well-being.

12. Let yourself enjoy the pursuit.

If, overall, you’re not enjoying the pursuit of a long-term or short-term goal, perhaps it’s not meant for you. If you are enjoying the pursuit, on the whole, you’ll know it’s for you! And good for you!

These are 12 ways to keep you believing you can do what you set your mind to. Hope you figure out for yourself how good they feel!!
