The inherent beauty of life, referring to the ability to live, think, feel, and connect primes us for an emotional roller coaster that shifts us from one moment to the next. Most important is our ability to celebrate moments when we reach a milestone, often something that we’re proud of or brought happiness by, such as an anniversary, an achievement and so many more. Celebrating moments, big or small, keeps us very much mindful, and in tune, to the good that we are overjoyed by. Here are 5 pluses to celebrating moments in our lives, however small or big, that may bring us comfort, joy, satisfaction or any other uplifting emotion:
1. Celebrating keeps us focused on the positive
By celebrating moments that we feel gratitude for, we bring our attention and focus to the positive. After repeatedly doing so, we allow ourselves to be trained this way. Who wouldn’t want to dwell on all things good? Try celebrating often and, in turn, reaping the benefits.
2. Our minds jump from one good moment to the next, and can help keep even our memories positive
The psychological rewards of expressing gratitude are still evolving, but researchers have learned of its many positive benefits. I argue the benefits are endless when we act on our gratitude. By celebrating, we can train our minds to jump from one good moment to the next. Eventually, as I see it, gratitude for such moments may even distill our memories to good times over bad.
3. The rewarded celebration often feels amazing, perhaps because of hard work paying off, a joyous occasion, etc.
The moments we celebrate might come as a result of hard work, which has been shown to bring happiness. With hard work, or simply through a buck load of gratitude, we feel amazing and our celebrations feel much sweeter. Why not celebrate all the wonderful moments in life?
4. We find greater incentive to work hard, in order to experience and feel the next joyous event
Our incentives to feel joy and happiness repeatedly, can get us to work that much harder to get to the next celebrated moment. Who wouldn’t want that kind of motivation? Productivity and motivation, together, is a recipe for success. Truly, gratitude for life can spill the ingredients for such a life of success.
5. We feel greater gratitude for life
By moving along our journey in this grateful and celebratory manner, we offer increasingly more gratitude for living and for life, deepening our appreciation and moving us forward beautifully.
Celebrating moments, big and small, brings our attention to the rewards in life of which there are too many to count. If we harness this focus and joy when we feel it, through action, our gratefulness for life has no limit.
