Motivational Monday: Personal Stories of Gratitude Part IV

Please note the story below is one of the wonderful stories selected at a family launch party for the Gratitude Circle app.

–Featured Story–
I am grateful for my health. To have not had any major complications throughout my life and continue waking up every day in good health is a blessing.

I am grateful for my family that has supported me during the good and bad times.

I am grateful for the numerous friends I’ve had through grade school, adolescence, and now adulthood. I always had friends with whom I felt relatively close with and could share in almost every type of laugh. Friends can come and go, but sometimes a few stick, and I am most grateful for them.

I am grateful for having a job that challenges me and that welcomes me challenging back. I am grateful for some of my co-workers that turned into mentors who shaped my professional outlook and medium/long-term plans.

I am grateful for all the online writers, content creators, entertainers, and ultimately the Internet itself. It defines how I learn and grow. At times it feels like having multiple sets of parents, just in terms of how much direction people sometimes try to give an audience. However, online digital media has given me more practical lessons and instruction than any formal course or class, and I am grateful to live in a time that makes this possible.

I am grateful for my senses, intelligence, and the other stuff I was born with and didn’t have any say in. I think I got a good roll of the dice, and it is all too easy to undershoot and not seize my potential. I am also grateful for the other stuff I do have a say in – for my self-knowledge, for my drive to improve my surroundings, for my self-skepticism. At the end of the day, I am grateful for myself.

Last and probably most, I am grateful for life. It is a gift that I can, in turn, help give to someone else and I am grateful for the opportunity to do so.
